I received some messages on Telegram asking where I stayed for my 2d1n trip in Muar https://www.sgbestbargain.sg/2023/11/how-to-go-muar-from-jb.html.
I stayed in Muar RM Hotel.
In this post, I will share my experiences with Muar RM Hotel.
I spent about $30 per night which is very value for money in my opinion.
Do take note there is a deposit of RM100 during check in.
The deposit was returned to me upon check out after the staff checked the room.
The room is quite spacious. More than enough for 2 adults or 2 adults + 1 child.
Take note that there is no window in the room as this might be a concern for some of you but since I only stayed for 1 night, so it is not really an issue to me.
Next, what I think is worth mentioning is that RM Hotel provides two bottles of water, two sets of toothbrush and toothpaste and two disposable slippers without additional charge despite they are only a 3 star hotel according to what I read online.
One thing that kind of affecting my stay was the water heater switch.
They used the 3 pin socket which from my understanding this is not safe. Hence, I had a quick bath during my one night stay.
Do note that there is no wardrobe in the room. Only a small space for you to hang clothes and store your luggage. This is not an issue for me as I staying for only one night.
The iron and the ironing board are share with the rest at the corridor. Again, this is not an issue for me.
There is a cafe at the lobby but we gave a miss as there are many eating places just within walking distance.
I think the most important plus point about RM Hotel is the convenience. About five minutes walk from/to the Muar Bus Terminal. This will ensure we will on time for the bus back to JB Larkin without any additional buffer of time.
You can go to Kopi 434 Muar to have a meal which is directly opposite the Muar Bus Terminal before going back to JB (just make sure you don't drink too much water as the bus journey back is about 3 hours with no toilet break).
The car park next to Muar Bus Terminal will become a night market from the evening. This is where you can consider to go for dinner and have a short walk around to enjoy the scenery of Muar before going back to the hotel.
There is also a self service Laundry shop opposite RM hotel. Useful for those who are travelling to multiple places.
I guess the pros of staying in RM Hotei way outweigh the cons for one or two nights stay.
We spent our whole 2d1n travelled around Muar by foot, no public transport or Grab and it more than enough time to explore the major parts of Muar.
