There are two ways to buy bus ticket from JB Larkin Bus Terminal to Muar (by the way, the bus terminal at Muar is called Terminal Bentayan Muar).
1. Online
2. On the spot (physical counter or self kiosk machine)
We bought the ticket on the spot via the physical counter at JB Larkin Bus Terminal as we are unsure what time we will reach JB Larkin Bus Terminal.
There are several timings in the morning.
The two main bus operators in the morning are Mayang Sari Express and City Express.
We reached Larkin around 8am, queued at the counter to buy ticket. We bought the 9am bus ticket by Mayang Sari Express.
RM17.70 per pax. RM16.70 per pax for the bus ticket and RM1 for the facility fee to JB Larkin Bus Terminal. Pay together at the counter.
Start entering the departure hall 30 minutes before the departure time (830am for our case since the bus will leave at 9am sharp).
Take note that there is no toilet inside the departure hall, so go to the toilet before enter the departure hall and need to pay RM0.30 or 30 sen to use the toilet at JB Larkin Bus Terminal.
The bus is ready and waiting.
The bus journey is about 3 hours. There is no stop or break in between for our ride, so go to the toilet at JB Larkin Bus Terminal and don't drink too much water.
Once we reached Muar, we bought the ticket over the counter first in case the bus ticket sold out for our return trip.
Walk towards the provision shop at Muar Bus Terminal and turn right.
We bought the bus ticket at 1015am by City Express.
The bus ticket for the return trip from Muar to JB Larkin Bus Terminal is RM16.70 per pax since there is no facility fee.
After buying our ticket, we went to the famous Kopi 434 to eat. It is just opposite Muar Bus Terminal.
