How to go Kukup by Bus

In this post, we will share how to go Kukup by Bus.

This is the route. 

Singapore → JB Larkin Bus Terminal → Pontian → Kukup.

We will share more about how to go from Pontian to Kukup in this post since we had shared how to go JB Larkin Bus Terminal and Pontian previously.

From Singapore to JB Larkin Bus Terminal

You can take bus from Kranji MRT or Woodlands MRT to JB using this link https://www.sgbestbargain.sg/2023/04/how-to-go-jb-from-singapore.html.

After you clear the JB customs, continue with bus 170 using this link https://www.sgbestbargain.sg/2023/05/how-to-go-larkin-from-ciq.html to JB Larkin Bus Terminal.

From JB Larkin Bus Terminal → Pontian

After alighting from bus 170 at JB Larkin Bus Terminal, exit the gate and turn right to Platform A.

From Pontian to Kukup

Board the bus at Pontian Bus Terminal. 

Pontian Bus Terminal is also known as Terminal Pangangkutan Awam Pontian.

There are four trips daily from Pontian Bus Terminal to Kukup. 

The timings are shown in the picture. The bus leave at the timings shown in the picture, so be there early to wait for the bus.

The Bus number is 605. 

RM3 per pax. Pay inside the bus.

The bus ride is about 30 minutes from Pontian to Kukup.

Leaving the Pontian Bus Terminal to Kukup

Reaching the bus stop at Kukup. 

Reached Kukup.

This is also the bus stop to take bus back to Pontian Bus Terminal. Take note of the building orange in color.

After you alight from the Bus 605. Follow the path on the right side of the orange building.

A short 2-3 minutes walk will bring you to this Kampung at Kukup.

Nothing much inside but you can go in to enjoy the sea view. Bring an umbrella, it is hot during the afternoon.

After you exit from the Kampung, turn right and there are some local eating places and Marrybrown (turn left is back to the bus stop).

There is also a ferry service to Indonesia. Hence, you will see Indonesians too.

How to go back to Pontian Bus Terminal?

Go back to the same bus stop where you alighted earlier. 

There are four timings too. 

We boarded the 3pm bus. The bus leaves at 3pm, so be at the bus stop early.

Bus 605 is here. RM3 per pax.

On the bus 605 going back to Pontian Bus Terminal. 

The bus ride is also about 30 minutes.

Back to Pontian Bus Terminal.

If you are going for a day trip in Kukup, I think two to three hours is more than enough. Hence, I would suggest you to take the bus at 11am from Pontian to Kukup and the bus at 3pm from Kukup to Pontian.

The bus at 11am will gives you sufficient time to travel from JB Larkin Bus Terminal to Pontian Bus Terminal which is about an 1.5 hours bus ride. 

You can also spend some time in Pontian when you take the bus at 3pm from Kukup back to Pontian before taking the bus T50 to go back JB Larkin Bus Terminal using this link https://www.sgbestbargain.sg/2023/11/how-to-go-pontian-from-singapore.html.
