In my previous post, I wrote about my bus experience from Singapore to Melaka Sentral at https://www.sgbestbargain.sg/2024/04/how-to-go-to-malacca-by-bus.html.
In this post, I will share how to take bus from Melaka Sentral to Jonker Street Melaka.
After arrived at Melaka Sentral, go inside the Melaka Sentral mall.
Look out for the McDonald's in the Melaka Sentral mall.
With a short walk from the McDonald's, you will be able to see the above departure gate to other states of Malaysia or back to Singapore. This is where we bought our bus ticket back to Singapore which I will write in the next post.
Look out for the ATM machine and the Domestic Bus Terminal sign on the top right. Follow the sign.
You should see a police station. Continue walk straight.
You should see this signboard which states the buses available within Melaka.
Look out for Bus 17 to Ujong Pasir. This is the bus we are taking to Jonker Street.
Update as of March 2025. Bus 17 had changed to Bus M100.
I haven take the Bus M100 yet. If you have taken the Bus M100, do take a picture and share with me at sgbestbargain community https://t.me/sgbestbargain_community. Thank you.
This is the departure hall or waiting area for the domestic buses within Melaka.
For your info, the main bus operator or bus service provider in Melaka is called Panorama Melaka.
This is how their bus looks like.
Bus 17 is here. RM1.50 per pax.
On the bus to Jonker Street.
The seat in the bus.
Get ready to alight when you see the Red House in Melaka.
Arrived! The bus ride from Melaka Sentral to the Christ Church is about 20 to 25 minutes.
Thank you bus for the ride!
The alighting point is in front of the Christ Church Melaka. Do note this alighting point is from Monday to Thursday only.
I guess maybe too many people driving and going to Melaka over the weekend as the Jonker Street night market is only on Friday to Sunday.
Hence, there is a road closure within the roads near the Red House from Friday to Sunday.
So the bus 17 alighting point to Jonker Street might be another place (I will find out on my next visit).
Jonker Street Melaka is just opposite from the Christ Church.
